HEADLAND. . .James Robert Kelley, a resident of Headland, died Monday morning, September 15, 2014. He was 78.

            Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 18, 2014, in Gardens of Memory with Reverend Ted Forrester officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Thursday at the mortuary.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hebron Baptist Church, c/o Butch Glover, 6952 State Highway 134 East, Columbia, AL 36319.

            Mr. Kelley was born and reared in Headland, son of the late James Byrd Kelly and Bernice Irene Armstrong Kelly. He was a member and Deacon of the Hebron Baptist Church and was engaged in farming most of his adult lifetime. Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by two sisters, Ollie B. Riley and Betty Jo Adkins, and a brother, U. M. Kelly.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Kathleen Jackson Kelley, Headland; a daughter, Rhonda Kelley, Dothan; two sons, Randall Kelly and Jason Kelley, both of Headland ; six grandchildren, Blake Kelly (April), Brooke Mendheim (Dustin), Bethani Benson, Nicholaus Kirkman, John Ryan Kirkman, and Jacob Kelley; four great-grandchildren, Camden Mendheim, Brooklyn Mendheim, Aiden Kelly, and Ethan Kelly.
