HALEBURG. . .James Walter Hicks,  a resident of Henry County, near Haleburg, died Sunday afternoon, April 3, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 78.

A celebration of life will be held at the family residence at a later date.  Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hicks was born and reared near Haleburg, son of the late James Walter Hicks, Sr. and Jennie Pearl Weems Hicks. He served his country during the Vietnam War era in the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Hicks was retired as a Contractor for Cable Television Companies. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa P. Hicks.

Surviving relatives include his companion, Raquel Gonzalez, two daughters, Chrisanne Sprague and Cheryl Tovar; and two sons, George W. Hicks and James Hicks, III; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
