Mr.  James Willard Tidwell of Geneva, Alabama went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 25, 2023. He was 85.


Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Home Freewill Baptist Church cemetery in Black, AL on Tuesday, February 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Buck Tidwell officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing.


Mr. Tidwell was born December 18, 1937 in Geneva County, AL to the late Ervin and Nettie Lee Beall Tidwell.   He retired from Clinton Mills in Geneva after 24 years of service. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather.  For several years, he was a member of East Pittman Freewill Baptist Church where he thoroughly enjoyed worshipping and gospel music.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Morris Tidwell; son, Nathan Lee Tidwell, son-in-law, Deryle Smith, brother, Wilvin Tidwell, step-daughter, Peggy Enfinger and two step-sons, John David and Jerry Mills.


He is survived by two sons,  Revion Tidwell (Brenda) of Trenton, KY, James Dennis “Buck” Tidwell (Tonya) of Clarksville, TN, two daughters, Dianna Smith of Summerdale, AL and Linda Kay Weeks of Chipley, FL; three step-daughters, Janice Watford (Rodney) of Ozark, AL, Brenda Banks (Rusty) of Geneva, AL and Lisa Adams of Fulshear, TX; two step-sons, Bobby Mills and Tommy Mills, both of Geneva, AL; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and a number of special nieces and nephews.


Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons.
