Janet Clark Tuttle

Janet Clark Tuttle, age 84, of Dothan passed away Saturday evening, January 27, 2018 at Extendicare Hospice Services Facility, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 6pm Wednesday evening at the Church of the Crossing with Family First Funeral Care directing. Burial will follow in the Graceland East Cemetery in Greenville, South Carolina. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 pm Tuesday night in the Family First Funeral Care Chapel.

Janet was born in Dothan on June 24, 1933, to Marlin and Clyde Clark. She graduated from Dothan High School and Bob Jones University at Greenville, SC in 1955 with a BA in Christian Education. She also earned her MA in Teaching Reading and an MA in Learning Disabilities from Furman University. Janet, along with her husband, was a co-founder of Emmanuel Christian School, where she taught first grade and served as Administrator. Janet was also Administrator in Pastoral Care Benevolence Ministry at Woodmen Valley Chapel in Colorado Springs, CA from 1994-2015.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Caryn Tuttle. She is survived by her husband, Carl (Bill) Tuttle; two sons, Daniel and David Tuttle, four grandsons, Marlin, Christopher, Jared and Peyden Tuttle; a great-granddaughter, Isabelle Tuttle and two cousins, David and Sidney Clark.
