DOTHAN. . .Janice York Dean, a resident of Dothan, died Friday morning, August 14, 2020, in a Dothan hospital. She was 81.

     Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 16, 2020, in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, near Headland, with Reverend Randy Dean officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed.

     In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Hospital of Alabama, 1600 7^th Avenue, South, Birmingham, AL 35233.

     Janice Dean was born and reared in Henry County, near Columbia, daughter of the late Miles Bartow York and Vassie Ola Kelly York. She lived in Belle Glade, Florida before moving to Ashford in 1970. Janice was of the Baptist Faith. She was employed as a Caregiver most of her lifetime. Janice was preceded in death by an infant great-grandchild, Riley Harold Dean, five sisters, Mary Dell Love, Bernice Farmer, Jean Penuel, Thelma Poole and Linda Elliott, and a brother, Theo York.

     Surviving relatives include two daughters, Brenda Folkes (Jim), Webb AL; and Lisa Ginibera (Willie), West Palm Beach, FL; a son, Reverend Randy Dean (Pamela), Ashford; a sister, Barbara Milligan, Palm Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Jodie Shelley (Michael), Katie Rice (Fred), Joshua Dean (Kydie), Jason Poche (Kari), Justin Poche and Kelly Ginibera; thirteen great-grandchildren.
