Janie Campbell Smith, a resident of Dothan, died Wednesday morning, August 7, 2019 at her residence following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 68.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, pancan.org

Janie was born June 23, 1951 in Pinckard, Alabama and lived most of her life in the Dothan area. She was a bookkeeper for her husband for many years. Janie was a loving wife, mother and “Nana” and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of almost 52 years, Steven Smith of Dothan; two daughters, Wendy Reeves (Tim) and Kelly Saunders (Jimmy), all of Dothan; grandchildren, Casey Rakhmanov (Igor), Tabitha Morris (Slade), Jordan Reeves-Brooks (Seth), Whitney Wrenn (Chris), Acey Reeves, Chance Reeves, Lauren Saunders, Logan Saunders and Matt Wallace (SSgtUSAF); great-grandchildren, Isabella Rakhmanov, Owen Rakhmanov Bailey Morris, Gavin Morris and Janie Reeves Brooks; a sister, Betty Adams (Carl) of Dothan; several nieces, nephews, cousins and close special friends.
