Obituary:  Jay Devon Wassenberg

 

Jay Devon Wassenberg passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023. He was 15.

 

Funeral services with cremation to follow will be at 4 pm on Friday, January 20, 2023 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise, Alabama with Eric McCallister officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service beginning at 3 pm and continuing until service time.

 

Jay was born May 5, 2007 in Savannah, Georgia to Wade and Deepa Patel Wassenberg. He loved playing video games and talking with friends and family. He also had a love for food, especially crab legs. He is preceded in death by his father and grandfathers Richard Wassenberg. and Gamanlal Patel.

 

Survivors include his mother, Deepa Patel Wassenberg; step-father, Andrew McCallister; sister: Maya Wassenberg, brother Emmett McCallister; grandmothers, Damyantiben Patel, Mary Wassenberg (Jon Gordon); aunts, Bijal Dowling (Terence), Lauren Wassenberg, Rinku Gokal (Kamlesh), uncle, Kartik Gopal (Catherine).
