Mr. `Jean Paul Joseph Lavallee of Geneva, AL passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. He was 78.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Geneva with Father Zachary Greenwell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Geneva with full military honors and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in his memory.

 

Mr. Lavallee was born in Holyoke, MA on October 23, 1942 to the late Oscar Henry and Jeanne Blaine Lavallee.  He faithfully served his country in the US Navy and retired after more than 20 years of service. He also worked for the US Postal Service as a mail carrier, retiring after 23 years. Jean loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was often known to be a jokester and loved to sing. Not only that, but he was a huge Boston Red Sox fan, baseball card and stamp collector.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Henriette Lavallee.

 

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Wanda J. Lavallee of Geneva, AL; four children, Christina Lavallee Rowley of Jordan, NY, Brian Lavallee (Gloria) of Mesa, AZ, Tim Lavallee (Anne Marie) of Rochester, NY and Laura Lavallee of Geneva, AL; grandchildren, Aaliyah, Nayshaun and Kamira Simon, Mindy Rosetti-Stebbins, Angel Rowley, Jenna Miller, Gabby, Joelle, Bryson and Joseph Zaire Lavallee; two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Sadie Stebbins.
