DOTHAN. . .Jean Saunders Bailey, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday morning, February 18, 2024, at her home. She was 77.

            Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, February 22, 2024, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Reverend George Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

            Mrs. Bailey was born and reared in Roanoke, Virginia, daughter of the late Carl M. Saunders, Sr. and Patsy Brown Saunders. She moved to Dothan in 1975. Mrs. Bailey was retired from Dimensions in Design and Shutter Sense in Dothan as a Designer. In earlier years, she was active in the Houston County Republican Party.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, Roy L. Bailey; a daughter, Heather Hancock (Doug), Abbeville; two sons, Evan Sweeney, Enterprise; and Chad Sweeney, St. Augustine, FL; a step-daughter, Beth Granberry (Dustin), Columbia; and a step-son, Brian Bailey (Kristen), Birmingham; a brother, Carl M. Saunders, Jr. (Carolyn), Wirtz, VA; three grandchildren, Lizzie Hancock, Ben Hancock and Charles Sweeney; four step-grandchildren, Owen Bailey, Elle Bailey, Will Granberry and Elizabeth Granberry.
