Jennings Benefield of Clayhatchee, AL, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011, at his home.  He was 83.

          Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, December 12, 2011, at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Hixson officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 5 PM at the funeral home.

           Memorials may be made to Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 10 Providence Lane, Daleville, AL 36322.

          Survivors include his wife, Shelby Benefield, Clayhatchee, AL; daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Jamie White, Enterprise, AL; son and daughter-in-law, Zachary and Stacy Benefield, Pike Road, AL; 3 grandchildren, Jessica and Joshua White, Enterprise, AL and Lynleigh Benefield, Pike Road, AL; 3 sisters, Evelyn Smith, Clayhatchee, AL, Patricia Arrington, Clayhatchee, AL, Judy Yelverton (Jimmy), County Line, AL; 3 brothers, Joe Benefield, Clayhatchee, AL, Doug Benefield (Myra), Clayhatchee, AL, Jerry Benefield (Pat), Wicksburg, AL; numerous nieces and nephews.
