Jerry Day of Samson, AL passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022. He was 73 years old.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery with Ray Kelley officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made in Jerry’s memory to Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 3159 Hwy 87 Samson, AL 36477.

Jerry was born in Montgomery, AL on October 17, 1948 to the late Rollan and Daisy Bowdoin Day.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Leah Holley Day, and one brother, Douglas Davis.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diane Waddell of Samson, AL; one daughter, Jenny Bynum (Brad) of Geneva, AL; one son, Donny Day (Brittney) of Enterprise, AL; stepdaughter, Jennifer W. Gilley (Mitch) of Enterprise, AL; daughter-in-law, Raeann McCollough; grandchildren, Brook and Brody Bynum, Taylor Day, Katie Barfield (Jesse), Anabeth Kendrick (Preston), Barrett Gilley, Gracie Harrison, and Breleigh Bradshaw; great grandchildren, Walker and Banks Barfield; one brother, Paul Day (Michelle); one aunt, Jeanette Bowdoin; and a host of cousins and friends.    

Serving as pallbearers will be Trey Faulk, Jason Qualls, Jesse Barfield, Barrett Gilley, Chris Day, and Andy Day.
