SHORTERVILLE. . .Jesus Rea Gonzalez, a resident of Shorterville, died Thursday afternoon, September 29, 2022, at his home. He was 61.

There are no funeral or memorial services planned at this time.

Mr. Gonzalez was born in Chalchihuites, Zacatecas, Mexico. He lived in Okeechobee, Florida before moving to Shorterville in 1992. Mr. Gonzalez was employed by Kennedy Land & Timber Company as a Supervisor. He was of the Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Miguel Gonzalez and a sister, Imelda Gonzalez.

Surviving relatives include his wife, LaTena McConnell Gonzalez, a daughter, Maria Solorzano, Ozark; three sons, Victor Solorzano, Ricky Solorzano and Guadalupe Solorzano, all of Shorterville; his mother, Magdalena Rea, Mexico; three sisters, Sara Gonzalez, Claudia Gonzalez and Amelia Gonzalez, all of Mexico; three brothers, Sergio Gonzalez, Miguel Gonzalez and Porfidio Gonzalez, all of Mexico; fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren on the way.
