CLOPTON, ALABAMA. . .Jill Howell Price, a resident of the Clopton community, died early Thursday evening, March 31, 2022, in an Albany, Georgia hospital. She was 86.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 4, 2022, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Rusty Pugh and Reverend Alan Capps officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Addition Cemetery in Eufaula. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary in Abbeville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clopton United Methodist Church, 3679 County Road 69, Skipperville, AL 36374 or to the Edwin United Methodist Church, 360 County Road 235, Clopton, AL 36317.  

Mrs. Price was born in Elamville, Alabama and was reared in Eufaula, daughter of the late Bertrum Lee Howell and Edna Gladys Pugh Howell. She was a 1954 graduate of Eufaula High School and also graduated from Massey Draughon Business College in Montgomery. Mrs. Price moved to the Clopton community in Dale County in the early 1960’s. She was formerly employed by the Bank of Abbeville and Southland Bank, both in Abbeville. Mrs. Price also worked for many years for G. E. Morgan Jewelry in Abbeville. She was a member of the Clopton United Methodist Church. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Johnson Price, a granddaughter, Elisabet Price,  and a sister, Gail Prescott. A son-in-law, Reverend Kenneth Preston, passed away early Friday morning, April 1, 2022.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Deni Price Golden (Edward), Headland and Campton, Kentucky, and Cindy Price Preston, Clopton community; two sons, Commander, U. S. Navy, Retired, Lee Price (Georgia), Frisco, Texas; and Rick Price (Joan), Sylvester, GA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
