Funeral Services for Jim Charlie Cobb, Sr., age 97, of Carriere, MS, who passed away Friday, August 20, 2021, will be held Friday, August 27, 2021, at 2:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel, 401 West Canal Street, Picayune, MS 39466.
Visitation will be Friday, August 27, 2021 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at McDonald Funeral Home, Picayune, MS.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Carl Heberg will officiate the service.
A native of Dothan, AL, he served in the US Army during WWII. Jim retired from Scott Paper Company as Mill Wright (Machinist) and he was a member of New Henleyfield Southern Baptist Church. In his lifetime he was a minister in the Baptist churches. He served his community and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Harper Cobb and Roxie Ann Hays Cobb; his loving and devoted wife or 63 years, Thelma Oliver Cobb; his siblings, Rufus Cobb, Alma King, Edna Whiddon, Mary Lillie Haymon, Johnnie May Cobb, Ann Duke, Allen Cobb, and Jesse Cobb; and his son in laws, Morris Roberts, Sr., and Greg Jorgensen.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Judy (Robert) Taylor, Patricia Roberts, Jim C. (Cindy) Cobb, Jr., Beverly Cobb, and Gwendolyn Cobb; 12 grandchildren, Lorrie Whiddon, James (Shannon) Whiddon, Rachel (Scott) Winters, Robert (Jamie) Taylor, Jr., Morris (Dottie) Roberts, Karen (Phillip) Conkin, Shawn Campbell, Chris Jorgensen, Dominique Jorgensen, Roxie Ann Sullivan, Olivia Dyess, and Kenny Fuqua; 28 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; his siblings, Sara Jane (M.C.) Douglas, and Gene (Evelyn) Cobb; his son in law, Ken Fuqua; numerous nieces and nephews.
