ABBEVILLE. . .Jimmie D Williams, a resident of Abbeville, passed away Tuesday morning, August 29, 2023, at the age of 86, in Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 31, 2023, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Jeff Hines and Brother Eddie Watson officiating. Graveside services will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary in Abbeville.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Ft. Gaines, Baptist Church, P.O. Box 248, Ft. Gaines, GA 39851.

            Mr. Williams was born and raised in Wicksburg, son of the late Charlie Williams and Catherine Stevens Williams. He was a graduate of Wicksburg High School. Mr. Williams lived in Dothan most of his lifetime before moving to the Englewood Subdivision on Lake Eufaula in 1996. He was a member of Ft. Gaines Baptist Church and was a former member of Evergreen Presbyterian Church in Dothan. Mr. Williams was retired from U. S. Civil Service at Ft. Rucker. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Condrey Williams and his brother, Sam Williams.  

            Surviving relatives include his daughter, Tammie Watson (Eddie), Ft. Gaines, GA; a granddaughter, Michelle Watson Stokes (Adam), two great-grandchildren, Grady Stokes and Addyson Rae Stokes and a sister-in-law Martha Williams of Dothan; several nieces and nephews.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be Greg Williams, Jimmy Wayne Williams, Frank Busbee, Randall Fulton, Bill Flournoy and Art McCauley.
