James B. “Jimmy” Cannon, Jr. of Samson passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Wiregrass Medical Center in Geneva. He was 56. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Minister Doug Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Eight Mile Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Jimmy was born on May 1, 1958 to James B. and Wanda Zorn Cannon, Sr. He was a loving son, father, grandfather and brother. He is preceded in death by one brother, Michael Cannon.

He is survived by his parents, James B. and Wanda Cannon, Sr. of Samson, AL; four children, Nikki Forrester (Ben) of Buford, GA, Michael Chad Cannon (Ashley) of Huntsville, AL, Morgan Samuel Cannon of Yorktown, VA and Christopher James Cannon of Samson, AL; two grandsons, Ethan Brewer and Caden Lane Forrester both of Buford, GA; three brothers and sisters, Cynthia Briner (George) of Warrior, AL, Robert Scott Cannon (Sheryl) of Delray Beach, FL and Cheryl Zorn (Patrick) of DeFuniak Springs, FL; several nieces and nephews.
