Jimmy Crawley age 51, a resident of Elba, Alabama passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 30, 2024 beginning at 2:00 PM with Billy Ted Bond, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in New Home Cemetery under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Hayes Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon, March 30th, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Jimmy was a 1991 graduate of Elba High School, and upon graduation worked at Dorsey Trailers, and later joined the team at Wayne-Sanderson Farms where he worked his way up to his current position as a supervisor. He was a "jack of all trades" and enjoyed piddling on his various projects and was often called on by family and friends for his input. Jimmy will be remembered as a selfless giver, and a person willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed Christmas, birthdays, or any time the family had the opportunity to come together. He was always a big kid at heart and relished in the excitement of the kids playing and opening gifts. His mother held a special place in his heart, only second to his girls. He adored them and would quickly proclaim they were his greatest achievement in life. His absence will create a lasting void in the lives of those he loved.
He leaves behind a daughter, Ariel Scott of Luverne, AL, along with a niece which he has raised as his own, Kacie Marie Crawley of Elba, Alabama. He is also survived by siblings, Norma (Wayne) Sanders, Elba, Alabama, Judy Crawley, Elba, Alabama, Tommy Crawley of Texas, Ronnie (Dori) Crawley of Florala, Alabama, and Bobby Crawley of Elba, Alabama.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Genine and Dewey Crawley, by a stepfather, Wilmer Bell, and by a brother Eddie Hudson.
