Jimmy Watson, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022. He was 86 years old.


Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Park Pavilion with Rev. Charles Goldsmith officiating.


Mr. Watson was born on August 18, 1935 in Geneva County and lived in Slocomb the early years of his life. He joined the US Navy and proudly served for over 20 years until his retirement in 1974. Mr. Watson was a Vietnam Veteran and retired as a Chief Petty Officer. Following his retirement he lived in Tampa, Florida for 25 years before relocating to Slocomb in 2000. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing where ever there was a body of water.


Survivors include his two sons, Matthew Watson and Mark Watson; his grandchildren, Nicholas Watson, Zack Watson, and Emily Watson; his brothers, Morris (Janice) Watson, Stanley (Dottie) Watson, and Andy (Tammi) Watson; his sisters, Mozelle (Jay) Smith and Georgia Powell; and several nieces and nephews.
