Joe H. Drew

 

Joe H. Drew, a resident of Ozark, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at Dale Medical Center. He was 82.

 

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with full military honors will follow in Pinckard Memorial Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing.

 

Mr. Drew was born September 2, 1929 in Geneva, County, Alabama and moved to Houston County in 1930. He was a graduate of Wicksburg High School. In 1950, he entered the U.S. Army. He was a devoted soldier who served for 26 years in Japan, Vietnam, Germany and France.

He was a resident of Ozark for several years and was of the Methodist faith.

 

He is survived by his wife Doris Drew of Ozark; a son, Ralph Drew of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; a sister, Lillian Shute of Dothan; several nieces and nephews also survive.
