Joe Phil Armstrong

 

       Joe Phil Armstrong, a resident of Ashford, AL passed away, Wednesday November 17, 2021, at his home. He was 75. Funeral Services will be held Friday November 19, 2021, at Wayside Baptist Church (Ashford, AL) at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Erick Varnum officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.

        Mr. Armstrong was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and entrepreneur. He has been a resident of Houston County all his life. He was well known for his love of music and his service to the Lord as the Minister of Music at Wayside Baptist Church. Mr. Armstrong also subcontracted with the United States Postal Service, served in the Army National Guard, and owned businesses such as Used Car Country, Joe’s Pizza and Bama Car Wash (just to name a few.) Mr. Armstrong enjoyed Fishing and going to the gun range.

        Mr. Armstrong was preceded in death by his parents Woodrow Armstrong and Hazel Armstrong.

        He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 54 years, Mrs. Priscilla Armstrong, Two sons: Joe Paul Armstrong, and Mark Owen Armstrong, two daughters Marla (Shawn) Rice, and Paula Dickerson. One sister; Wanda (Jerry) DeShazo. 8 Grandchildren: Chase (Tracy) Dickerson, Noah Dickerson, Macy (Harrison) Reeves, Mallory Armstrong, Andrew (Kristi) Rice, Colby Rice, Lilly Rice, and Jorgia Armstrong. Two Great-grandchildren; Zola Dickerson and Lydia Dickerson and a host of other family and friends and church members who loved him dearly.
