ABBEVILLE. . .Joel Edgar “JoJo” Roberts, a resident of Abbeville, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 17, 2021, at his home. He was 70.

   Graveside services will be held at 4:30 P.M. Thursday, August 19, 2021, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East with Pastor Randy Greene officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 P.M. Thursday at the mortuary. Social distancing and masks will be observed

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to S.H.A.R.K., P.O. Box 126, Abbeville, AL 36310.

   “JoJo” was born and reared in Abbeville, son of the late Lewie George Roberts and Aline Lindsey Roberts. He was retired from the Army National Guard in the Abbeville unit. In earlier years, “JoJo” served his country in the United States Air Force. He was also retired as an Inspector from POLY, Inc. (Polyengineering) in Dothan. “JoJo” was preceded in death by a daughter, Kiley Brooke Roberts, and a brother, George Roberts.

   Surviving relatives include his wife, Kathy Brooks Roberts, a daughter, Stacy Blankenship, a son, Andrew Roberts (Heather), a sister, Becky Taylor, all of Abbeville; a brother, Lindsey Roberts (Amy), Shorter, AL; four grandchildren, Emma Grace Roberts, Anna Claire Roberts, Lawson Roberts and Madison Durham; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law from the Brooks family, Billie and Rex Sanders, Lisa and Bruce Starling and Marvin Brooks.
