John Andrew Penny, son of Palmer and Mary Penny, died in Atlanta, GA on July 28, 2013.         



A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 2, 2013 at St John Catholic Church with Father Gregory Okorobia officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time.  Memorials may be made to St. John Catholic Church Building Fund, 123 Heath Street, Enterprise, AL 36330.



He was born at West Point, New York, on August 19, 1976.  As part of a military family he moved many times and attended various schools throughout the country.  He graduated from Enterprise High School in 1995, cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 1999 and Wake Forest School of Law in 2002.  He was a member of the Law Review at Wake Forest.  He worked as an attorney with the Georgia Governor’s Office of Consumer Affairs.         



He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Evelyn and Lawson Johnson of Dothan, AL, and Palmer John Penny of Butte Montana, and an aunt, Margaret Steilman of Helena, Montana.



He is survived by his parents, Palmer and Mary Penny, Enterprise, AL; a sister,  Elizabeth Penny , Atlanta, GA; a grandmother, Vera Penny , Butte, Montana; uncles, John Johnson , Montgomery, AL; William Arthur Penny, Laurel Montana; Ben Steilman, Helena, Montana; aunts, Mary Penny; Vera McElroy both of Butte, Montana, and numerous cousins and friends.
