ARITON…. Mr. John Douglas McDaniel, a resident of Ariton, Alabama died late Friday afternoon, April 3, 2020 at the home of his son. He was 87.

            In keeping with the wishes of the family, there are no services planned at this time. Fuqua Bankston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

            Mr. McDaniel, son of the late William Rufus McDaniel and Callie Clementine Adair McDaniel, was a native of Englewood, TN. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. McDaniel moved to Ariton in 1960 and was employed at Ft. Rucker, Alabama  as an aircraft inspector. He retired after thirty five years of employment and moved back to Tennessee before returning to Ariton in 2019. Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by four brothers, Bill McDaniel, Glenn McDaniel, Henry McDaniel, and Jim McDaniel.

            Surviving relatives include three sons, John McDaniel (Tina), Raleigh, NC; Jamey McDaniel and Tim McDaniel (Sandy), all of Ariton.
