John Ervin Mims of Westville, Florida passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at Signature Healthcare of North Florida. He was 77 years old.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 29, 2019 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Geneva with Brother Charles Grantham officiating. Burial will follow in Popular Head Community Church Cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

He was born on November 21, 1942, in Holmes County, Florida, to Loyd Mims and Mable Ingalls.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl Mims and Ed Mims and one sister Edna Mims.

He is survived by two daughters, Samantha Mims of Fort Payne, Alabama and Charlene Mims of Westville, Florida; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; five sisters, Geraldine Gillman of Westville, Florida, Christine Prescott of Westville, Florida, Elizabeth McDuffie of Westville, Florida, Mary Grantham of Geneva, Alabama and Darlene Hudson of Westville, Florida; along with several nieces and nephews.
