John Frank Campbell of Geneva passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old.


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Adam Mikel officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 3, 2019 form 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.


The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to the Geneva Rescue Squad, 701 South Commerce Street, Geneva, AL 36340.


Mr. Campbell was born in Hartford, AL on April 7, 1939 to the late Ross F. Campbell and Pearl M. Brown Campbell Thames. Frank was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He enjoyed spending time with them and watching them play sports. He was always at their games and hardly ever missed one.


Mr. Campbell was a truck driver for Benson Wholesale and GFA Transportation. He retired after 42 years of service. He was an avid Alabama Football Fan.


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Willie Ray Campbell; and a half-brother, Mickey Thames.  


 He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 63 years, Annie Pearl Wood Campbell of Geneva; three daughters, Patricia Justice (Ronnie) of Geneva, Wanda Dixon (Jerry) of Geneva; and Linda Strickland (Donald) of Hartford; six grandchildren, Hannah Dixon Strickland (Justin Chet) of Graceville, FL, Heather Dixon Mikel (Adam) of Ardmore, AL, Justin Strickland (Sheena), Chelsie Justice, Ryan Strickland (Lauren) and Tyler Justice (Emily) all of Hartford; eight great-grandchildren, Addison Mikel, Marlee Strickland, Karis Strickland, Evan Mikel, Levi Strickland, Rhett Strickland, Asha Strickland, and Lillian Nicole Justice; one sister, Colleen Russell of Hartford; two half-brothers, Donald Thames of Dothan, and Ronald Thames of Sevierville, TN.


The family wishes to thank Quincella McIntyre and Brenda Pryor for their love and care as well as, Covenant Care Hospice Nurses, Jennifer and Lisa, and also Dr. John Simmons, Jr.
