John Franklin Anderson, Jr. (Pete) passed away at home on Friday, April 23, 2021. He was 88 years old. 


Pete was drafted into the service before his high school graduation and served in the Korean War. He was a well known and loved member of the Hartford community. He enjoyed coaching little league football and was a role model for so many young men. 


He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Rose Anderson, Sr.; wife, Ann Elizabeth Anderson; and sister. 


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Hartford with Max McKinney and David Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery with Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2021 and again Monday, April 26, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. 


Survivors include his son, John Allen Anderson (Tracey); grandson, John Hunter Anderson (Nekissa); granddaughter, Bailey Grace Allen (John Davey); step grandsons, Zachary John Armstrong and Benjamin Carey Armstrong (Tiffany); great grandsons, John Parker Anderson and Everett Lamar Allen; great granddaughters, Kylie Anderson, Elizabeth Ann Allen and Rory Mae Allen; step great grandsons, Twon, Aiden William Armstrong, Asher Armstrong and David Liam Armstrong; step great granddaughters, Brittney Grace Armstrong, Reese Armstrong and Avery Rose Armstrong; his spouse, Sarah Jane Adame; step children, Sarah Coleen Guinn (Stan), Audrey Herrera (Mike), John A. Carter IV, and Mary Alice Carter; step grandsons, Pete and Jacob; step granddaughters, Heather, Sierra, Chelsey, Brittney, Mary Jo, and Audie Mae; four step great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Catherine Stearns and Gladys Brunson; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation or Alabama Autism Association.
