John Glenn Hughes, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, November 14, 2011 at his residence. He was 85.

Mr. Hughes was a lifelong resident of  Rehobeth  community in Houston County. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of Eastside Freewill Baptist Church. He worked at Hedstrom  and retired after 35 years of service.

Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Rosie Sanders Hughes and eight brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 60 years Willie Pearl Chappell Hughes of Dothan and several nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be at Ward Wilson Funeral Home from 1:30 until 2:30 P. M. Thursday, November 17, 2011 with Graveside services following at 3 P. M. at Rehobeth Cemetery with Reverend John Sanders officiating, Ward Wilson Funeral Home Directing.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alacare hospice, 3763 Ross Clark Circle, STE 1, Dothan, AL 36303.
