John Marcus Baskin, 55, of Vidalia, GA passed away Friday, July 12, 2019 at his residence. His funeral will be held Tuesday morning, July 16, 2019 at 11 AM EDT at the Cedar Springs Freewill Baptist Church, Cedar Springs Highway, Blakely, GA with Rev. Yancey Hartman officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation starting at 10 AM up until the service time at 11 AM EDT. The burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Robert Baskins, Andrew Crawford, Michael Cashwell, Gustavo Hernandez and Taylen Dixon serving as pallbearers.

John was born on February 1, 1964 in Donalsonville, GA to the late William Virgil Baskin and his mother Betty Pearl Welch Hodges of Dothan, AL. He was employed as a welder at Georgia Hi-Tech in Vidalia, GA. He also was a certified electrician and HVAC technician. He was a member of the Cedar Springs Freewill Baptist Church.

Other than his mother, he is survived by 3 sisters: Gail B. Hudson, Sherry B. Lynn, both of Dothan, Al and Brenda Cashwell and Roger of Blakely, GA, and 2 brothers: William Gregory Baskin and Pam of Hamilton, GA and Robert Baskin of Dothan, AL.
