John Michael Jenkins

John Michael Jenkins, a resident of Daleville, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at his home. He was 90 years old.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 3, 2023 in Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Chad Ingle officiating.

John was born on June 10, 1932 in Michigan. He enlisted in the United States military which began his long and fulfilling career. John was a Koren War Veteran who served in the Navy, Army, and Air Force plus time as a Fleet Marine on TDY from the Navy. He was Awarded the Naval Combat Action Ribbon, and several other service decorations. After the military, John was employed with NASA for a few years and then moved his family to the Wiregrass Area. He became a Civil Service employee at Ft. Rucker, working at the Vibration Lab as an Electronic Engineer. John was a devoted family man who loved them dearly. As a devout Christian, He would take every opportunity to share the word of God with not only his family, but all who he met. John was a wonderful gardener who could make anything grow. He enjoyed sharing and giving what he grew with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jenkins; son, David Jenkins; brothers, Bruce Jenkins and Phillip Tilin; and daughter in law, Taggie Jenkins.

Survivors include his children, Jim Jenkins, Kimberly (Keith) Sherman and Kathryn (David) Wells; 5 grandchildren, Megan (Matt) Sewell, Derek Grantham, Alexa Richardson, Kevin Grantham, and Maelyn Grace Wells.
