COTTONWOOD…John Sanford “Johnny” Faison, a resident of Cottonwood, died late Friday night, December 2, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. He was 72.


Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 5, 2022, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Monday at the mortuary.


Johnny Faison was born and reared in Headland, son of the late Henry Sanford Faison and Ann Hunley Faison. He lived most of his lifetime in Headland before moving to Cottonwood eight years ago. Johnny was a member of the First Baptist Church of Headland. He was retired from Lowe’s in the building material department. In earlier years, he was employed by West Building Materials and WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville.


Surviving relatives include two daughters, Suzy Wyrick (Keith), Dothan; and Lori Author of Georgia; two sons, Chuck Faison and Jamie Faison, both of Headland; two sisters, Pat Retherford, Headland and Geraldine Paulk, Dothan; a brother, Larry Faison, Headland; grandchildren, Jonathan Hughes, Daisha Windsor (Dylan), Seth Faison, Cora Faison, Josie Faison, Charley Faison, Madison Wyrick, Myranda Wyrick, William and Brantley, and Emma Faison; great-grandchildren, Saylor Windsor and Wrenley Windsor, several nieces and nephews.
