John Wheeler of Dothan, AL, 62 years old, passed away and went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 6, 2022. He passed away peacefully at his home with friends and family by his side.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, September 9, 2022, at Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Don Tew officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Enon Baptist Church Cemetery with Glover Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 1:45 pm prior to service time on Friday.

Flowers are being accepted.

He was born to Tom Wheeler and Hildegard Ulbrich Wheeler and raised in Sylacauga, AL, where he attended BB Comer High School. He later met his wife Judy at church over 44 years ago. He was a long-time member of the Evangel Temple Assembly of God in Gadsden, AL. He was passionate about spending time with family and friends, and he loved Alabama football and basketball. He also loved anything western and was a collector.

He is preceded in death by his father, Tom Wheeler of Sylacauga, mother, Hildegard Ulbrich Wheeler of Sylacauga, two brothers, Billy Walker and George Martin, one sister, Susie Dobbs, two sisters-in-law, Mary Walker and Nancy Hubbard; two brothers in law, Jimmy Harrell and Terry Harrell; mother and father-in-law, Doris and Richard Harrell.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Wheeler of Dothan; one daughter, Michelle Godwin (Kevin) of Dothan; three sons, Tim Wheeler (Shellie) of Dothan, Jeff Wheeler of Dothan, Adam Wheeler of Dothan; five grandkids, Eli Wheeler, Will Wheeler, Sophie Wheeler, Jax Wheeler, and Sadie Wheeler; a special friend of 30 years, Jim Head.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Godwin, Corey Bigbie, Jim Head, Rich Zeigler, Duane Williams, and Mike Teeters.
