Mrs. Johnie Ruth Williams Adkinson, age 88, of Taylor, AL., passed away Monday, January 19, 2015.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Douglas officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.

 

Ms. Adkinson was a member of South Lena Baptist Church for more than 50 years and was currently a member of Taylor Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed fishing and crossword puzzles.

 

Ms. Adkinson was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Adkinson and two sisters, Kaotrice Peterson and Muzette Chambliss.

 

She is survived by one son, James Adkinson (Linda); three daughters, Jolaine Reynolds, Jackie Zorn (Don) and Donna Shinholster. She also leaves behind six grandsons and eight great-grandchildren.

 

Ms. Adkinsons grandsons will serve as pall bearers.

 

In addition to flowers, the family requests the contributions be made to the Taylor Baptist Church building fund at 4156 Taylor Road, Taylor, AL. 36305 or the Hodgesville Baptist Church building fund at 11190 South County Road 33, Dothan, AL. 36301.
