Johnny “John” Len Maxfield of Kinston, AL passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024. He was 72 years old.

John was born in Carmi, IL on June 11, 1951, to the late Elmer Jack and Loretta Colson Maxfield. John was known for his kind gestures and always helping anyone that needed an extra hand. He was an outstanding handy man. John was quite a jokester who always enjoyed making his family and friends laugh.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister.

John is survived by his life partner, Pam Brooks of Kinston, AL; two sons, Jeff Maxfield (Keisha) of Stuarts Draft, VA, Jim Maxfield (Michelle) of Lancaster, SC; one daughter, April Lowery (Derrick) of Ft. Lawn, SC; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one great granddaughter on the way; four siblings, Jackie Brekke (Michelle) of Des Moines, IA, Denny Maxfield (Debbie) of Lewisville, IN, Janet Fowler of Petersburg, IN, and Bryon Maxfield of Petersburg, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
