Jonathan Paul Nelsen of Enterprise, AL passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at Southeast Health in Dothan.  He was 39.

Memorial services will be held at New Life Pentecostal Church with Pastor John Padgett officiating at a time and date to be announced.

Jonathan is survived by his mother and father, Katie and Steve Nelsen, Enterprise, AL; sister, Tammy Griggs (Chris), Andalusia, AL; nieces, Kate, Rozetta, Cameron and Lilyann; nephew, Alexander; numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Jonathan was a lifelong resident of Enterprise, Alabama. He graduated from Enterprise High school in 1998 where he was a member of the JROTC. He attended Enterprise State Junior College following his graduation.

Jonathan demonstrated his love for Jesus by serving others and leaving his fingerprints on the church. While Jonathan held several jobs during his life, his favorite positions were at his church, New Life Pentecostal, where he served as usher, Sunday School teacher and occasionally, sound man. He loved to be involved in all church activities, including fund raisers, building projects, and maintenance. He was known as Uncle Johnny to many of the children in the church and he never failed to have a couple of Smarties in his pockets.

Jonathan loved people and loved to help them in any way he could. In addition to his relatives, he leaves behind a host of friends, both young and old, far and near.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be considered for either the Jonathan Nelsen memorial garden fund at New Life Pentecostal Church, Enterprise, AL (www.nlpc.net) or to the Children's Fund for Glycogen Storage Disease Research (www.curegsd.org) in memory of Jonathan Nelsen.
