José Yet Coc of Daleville, Alabama, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022.  He was 55 years old. 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2022, at Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise with Roberto Pop Ba officiating.  Burial will follow at a later date in Poptún Peten Cemetery in Poptún Peten, Guatemala.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until time of service.  

José was born December 11, 1967, in Guatemala.  He was a member of the St. John Catholic Church in Enterprise.  José loved being outside, walking, and spending time with friends.  He also loved music, dancing, and, of course, his favorite hat. 

Survivors include his wife, Concepción Chocoj Choc; daughters, Dunia Yat Caal, Wendy Lorena Yat Chocoj, Sebastiana Concepción Yat Chocoj, Maria Floricelda Yat Chocoj, and Marlin Rosebel Chocoj; sons, Nelson Amilcar Yat Chocoj, José Victor Yat Chocoj, Henry Federico Yat Chocoj, Angel David Armondo Yat Chocoj, and Armando Yat Chocoj; parents, Marcos Yat Xol and Sebastiana Coc; and grandchildren, Luis Byron Chocoj Yat, José Manuel Chocoj Yat, Ericka Everilda Chocoj Yat, Melvin Luis Chocoj Yat, and Deysi Roxana Chocoj Yat.
