Joseph E. Mayberry of Daleville passed away Saturday January 16, 2021. He was 90.


Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Daleville Assembly of God Church with Reverend James Smith and Reverend Bill Mansfield officiating. Burial will follow at Newton City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continue until time of service.  Facial masks and social distancing will be required to attend these events.


Joseph was born on September 27, 1930 in Missouri to the late Thomas and Mamie Mayberry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Vaughn.  Joseph loved his family and was “Papa Joe” to all. He enjoyed working on aircraft, fishing and being outdoors.


Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Betty Sue Mayberry of Daleville, AL; son, Tommy R. Mayberry of Daleville, AL; sister, Ora Ann Kern of Kentucky; and several nieces and nephews.
