JOSEPH EDWARD "JOBY" WELDON


MIDLAND CITY, AL… Joseph Edward "Joby" Weldon, a resident of Midland City, Alabama, passed away Monday afternoon, May 8, 2023, at a Dothan hospital. He was 58.


          A memorial service will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at the family residence, 153 6th Avenue, Midland City, Alabama, 36350. The family will receive friends before and after the service.


          Mr. Weldon was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He lived his younger life in the Dale County Area. He was a 1982 graduate of Carroll High School and also graduated from the Ozark – Alabama Aviation College. He joined the US Navy where he was a SeaBee and traveled the world. He returned to Midland City, Alabama nine years ago. After serving his country, he was a mechanic by trade. He was of the Jehova’s Witness faith.


          He was preceded in death by his brother, James Joseph Michalic.


          Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife, Janet Lee Stiffler Weldon; his sons, Joby Lee Weldon (Bonnie), Jack Richard “J.R.” Weldon (Jacob lee Richards), and Joseph James “J.J.” Weldon; his mother Carolyn Sue Wilson Weldon; his brothers, Mike Michalic, T.J. Michalic, and Ron Colby (Sherry); and his three granddaughters.
