ABEBVILLE. . .Joseph Hawley Money, a resident of Abbeville, died Friday afternoon, April 22, 2022, in the Henry County Health & Rehabilitation Facility in Abbeville.  He was 90.

       Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, April 24, 2022, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East with Reverend Mike Griggs officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

        Memorial contributions may be made to the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Susie Blalock, 570 Hickory Grove Road, Abbeville, AL 36310 or to S.H.A.R.K., P.O. Box 126, Abbeville, AL 36310.

        Mr. Money was born and reared in Shorterville, son of the late Joseph Greene Money and Lula Buxton Money. He was a graduate of Abbeville High School. Mr. Money served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and later in the Army Reserve in the Abbeville unit. He lived in Abbeville most of his adult lifetime where he and his late wife owned and operated Money Motors since 1964. Mr. Money was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Johnson Money, who died Thursday, September 23, 2021. He was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph Michael Money, two sisters, Mary Lou Hayes and Kathleen Capps and three brothers, Alfred E. “Knocker” Money, James W. “Sport” Money and Coy Money.

        Surviving relatives include three brothers, Lindy Money, Abbeville; Reverend Robert E. Money (Sydnor), Knoxville, TN; and Jimmy Money (Lorene), Abbeville; a sister-in-law, Rossie Money; a granddaughter, Kandace Money, two great-grandchildren, Kyli Baxter and Kade Scoggins.

        The family would like to express their appreciation to the Henry County Health & Rehab and also his caregivers, Betty Graham and Rosie Jackson.
