Jossie Ann Mills Cordell, age 87, a resident of Eufaula peacefully departed this life Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 7, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Eufaula Church of God with Pastor Chris Sowell and Reverend Ronnie Benefield officiating and Glover Funeral Home of Eufaula directing. Burial will follow at Creel Church Cemetery in Clayton, Alabama. A visitation will be held Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Eufaula Church of God from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted.

Jossie was born August 22, 1934, the daughter of the late Garrie William Mills and Lacy Blankenship Mills. She worked for 18 years in production at West Point Pepperell. She loved her family and spending time with them as much as possible. She enjoyed word search puzzles, cooking, talking on the phone and fishing. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Eufaula Church of God.

Jossie is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rufus Cordell; brother, Robert Earl Mills; sister Bobbie Nell English; great-grandson, Tristian Thomas.

Left to cherish her memories are son, Andy Cordell (Kim); two daughters, Becky Cordell (Kenneth Douglas), Diane Jowers; sister-in-law, Ann Mills; six grandchildren, Kendra Thomas (Michael), Richie Jowers (Julie), Leigh Anna Jowers (Matt Phillips), Lacy Cordell (Jorge Medina), Clay Cordell (Morgan), Kayla Moates (Devan); fifteen great-grandchildren, Tyler Morris, Jalissa Thompson, CJ Morris, Adrianna Grubbs, Katherine Morris, Tripp Jowers, Coy Jowers, Jaxsen Jowers, Kendra Thomas, Elijah Thomas, Tre’ Thomas, Olivia Thomas, Braxton Goins, Lakelyn Phillips.

Asked to serve as pallbearers are Donnie Benefield, David Benefield, Joe Drawdy, John Lehr, Mick Sprull and Roy Dean Smith.

Honorary pallbearers are Buddy Cook, Jerry Evans, Jimmy Sowell and Richard Jowers.
