Joyce Nowell Owens, passed away after an extended illness at UAB Hospital in Birmingham on Monday, February 20, 2012.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, February 23, 2012, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Ramah Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Cottonwood with Ward Wilson Funeral Home officiating.

 

The family will be receiving friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Thursday, February 23, 2012, one hour prior to the services. Flowers will be accepted.

 

Mrs. Owens was born April 17, 1932,  to the late Lonnie and Emma Nowell. She was a retired bookkeeper. She was of the Baptist Faith.

 

Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, Foman Owens, Jr., her brother, Kenneth Nowell, and her twin sister, Loyce Nowell.

 

Mrs. Owens is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Pamela Owens, Marianna, FL; three granddaughters, Christie Creamer, (fiancée, Chad Watts), Marianna, FL; Terri and Brian Golden, Graceville, FL; Kayla Bundy, (fiancée, Rob Stevenson), Webb, AL;  four great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Creamer, Austin Creamer, Ivy Golden, Allie Bundy and one sister, Katherine Lindsey. Several nieces, nephews and cousins.
