Juanita Jean Coursey Crawford of Westville, FL passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL with Rev. Daniel Smith officiating and her son, Ron delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in Beulah Anna Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Crawford’s memory to West Pittman Baptist Church, 1603 Bradley Road, Westville, FL 32464.

Juanita was born in Bonifay, FL on February 8, 1937 to the late Anglin and Nita Bass Coursey, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Marcus Crawford, USAF, Ret.; one son, Phil Avera; four brothers, Anglin, Jr., Arnie, Carie, and Don Coursey; one sister, Jeanne Bell Laird.

She is survived by one son, Ron Avera (Lisa) of El Cajon, CA; eight grandchildren, Autumnne Sherman (Domnic), Melissa “Shelene” Cavaluzzi (Anthony), Meghan Ascroft (Tyler), Domnick Avera, Hillarey Tinker (Luke), Kwentin Avera, Chandlar Avera, and Hayden Avera (Elizabeth); 17 great grandchildren, and one on the way; three sisters, Loretta Spears, Beatrice Retherford (Billy), and Carolyn Commander (Ernest) all of Westville, FL; many special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.      

Serving as pallbearers will be Gene Commander, Dallas Moring, Michael Moring, Greg Laird, Jimmy Coursey, Chance Pitts, Craig English, and Eric Waters.
