Judson “Calvin” Brooks passed away at his home May 10, 2019 at the age of 91. He was born January 17, 1928 to J.W. and Irene Brooks of Black, Alabama. He was a lifelong resident of Hartford and longtime member of Pondtown United Methodist Church. Calvin spent his early years working for H&S Railroad and was a member of the Army National Guard. After retiring he pursued his passion of farming and spent the last several years growing blueberries. He loved Auburn football and any sport in which his grandchildren participated.

He is preceded in death by his 3 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean Dillard Brooks; son, Judson (Renee) Brooks of Dothan; grandchildren, Ryan (Anna) Brooks of Dothan, Rachel Brooks of Dothan, Reid Brooks of New Orleans; great grandchildren, Mae, Henry and Jack Brooks and many loved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m with funeral to follow at 3 p.m. at Pondtown United Methodist Church in Hartford. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Pondtown United Methodist Church or the American Heart Association.
