HEADLAND. . .Julia Graddy White, a resident of Headland, died Monday morning, Jan. 8, 2024, in a Dothan hospital. She was 97.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Bishop Lawson Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Headland Methodist Church, 103 West King Street, Headland, AL 36345

            Mrs. White was born and reared in Headland, daughter of the late William Haywood Graddy and Cynthia Campbell Graddy. A lifelong resident of Headland, she was a daughter of a Headland pioneer family. Mrs. White also loved her relatives in the Smuteye community in Bullock County, Alabama. She was a member of the Headland Methodist Church. Mrs. White was retired from Headland National Bank as a Teller. In earlier years, she was employed by Buris Davis Company on the town square. Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Edward White, a daughter, Dinah White Maddox, sons-in-law, Douglas Pittman and Morris Maddox, sisters, Elizabeth “Priss” White and Nelle Johnson, and brothers, Billy Haywood Graddy and Joe Campbell Graddy.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Juliana White Pittman, Enterprise; a son, Sam White (Sherrie), Headland; grandchildren, Patti Pittman King, Douglas Richard “Bo” Pittman, Jr., Adam O. Smith, Andy Smith, Dana White Daughtry (Mike), and Sam Frank White (Lidia); great-grandchildren, Meg Meek (Daniel), Gray Pittman King, Savannah Smith Stevenson (Bryce), Emily Smith, Ian Smith, Riley Smith, Casey Daughtry (Kayla), Presley Pittman and Sara Harper Pittman; great-great-grandchildren, Anderson Meek, Juliana Meek and Charlee Ann Stevenson.

            Serving as active pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
