June Lang Dozier

June's life will be honored at 11:00am on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Church in Ozark, Alabama with Brother Michael Woodard and Brother Tom Skeen officiating. Her family will gather to remember the extraordinary woman who graced their lives with such tenderness and strength. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on January 31, 2024, in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Her spirit will forever remain a guiding light for her loved ones, as they continue to walk the path of kindness and compassion that she so beautifully paved.

June Lang Dozier, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2024, surrounded by the warmth of her family in Midland City, Alabama. She was born on August 8, 1938 to her parents, Willie and Beatrice Eldridge.

June was the cherished daughter of the late Willie Lloyd and Beatrice Eldridge and grew up alongside her brothers, Kenneth Eldridge and the late Johnny Mack Eldridge. Her heart found its match in David Dozier, and together they built a life filled with love until his passing. From their union blossomed a family that would become June's greatest pride and joy.

As a stay-at-home mother, June dedicated her life to her children, Keith Dozier (Nancy), Allison Dozier, and Denise Willis (Ricky), nurturing them with a love that only expanded with time. Her role as a grandmother was one she cherished deeply, and she was adored by her grandchildren, Davy Dozier (Jerica), Cody Willis (Mary Claire), Michelle Willis, Michael Dozier (Zell), and Audrey Tew. The lineage of her love continued with her great-grandchildren, Brooks Willis and Rylan Wilson. The family felt the absence of her beloved grandson, Jeff Dozier, who preceded her in death, but they take comfort in knowing they are now reunited.

June's life was one of quiet dedication and unwavering support. While she never sought the spotlight, her impact was profound, earning her the title of "the backbone of the family." Her gentle presence was a constant source of comfort and strength to all who knew her. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Church in Ozark, Alabama, where her faith and community involvement were integral parts of her life.

Her interests were simple but filled with passion. She was an avid fan of Alabama Football, her enthusiasm was contagious to all around her. June found solace and joy in reading and working through word puzzles, activities that reflected her love for quiet contemplation and her sharp mind. But above all, June was known as the "best grandma ever." Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and there was nothing she wouldn't do for them. Her selfless nature ensured that family always came first, and she was the embodiment of unconditional love.

Words like loving, selfless, and gentle only begin to scratch the surface of describing June. Her influence and tender care reached far beyond the confines of her own family, touching the lives of many. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel loved and valued, a trait that will be deeply missed by all.

June Lang Dozier's legacy is a testament to a life well-lived, a life filled with purpose, and a life that was a gift to all who were fortunate enough to be a part of it. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories passed down through generations, in the lessons she taught, and in the love she shared. As we say goodbye to June, we also celebrate the profound impact she made on the world simply by being herself—a loving, selfless, and gentle soul who made a difference in the lives of so many.
