CLAYTON. . .Karen Elizabeth LaRoche, a resident of Clayton, died early Saturday afternoon, November 26, 2022, in a Dothan hospital. She was 56.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 30, 2022, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Joe Vickers officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary.

Karen LaRoche was a native of Dothan and was raised in the Taylor/Rehobeth area. She was a graduate of Rehobeth High School and was a member of the Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Karen was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Pete Smith, her mother, Judy Hightower Oppert, her step-father, Louis Oppert, Jr., maternal grandparents, Richard and Lena Pearl Hightower, and her paternal grandparents, James and Ollie Bell Smith.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Mark S. LaRoche; two daughters, Kandice Edwards, Clayton; and Shannon Golden (Glen), California; two sons, Marcus LaRoche, Abbeville; and Joshua LaRoche (Tiffany), Headland; a brother, Scott Smith (Lynn), Dothan; grandchildren, Madison Parker, McKenzie Fulton, Mason Hayes, Faith LaRoche, Macy LaRoche, Adalynn LaRoche, Toby LaRoche and Liam Golden; brothers-in-law, Dave LaRoche (Bobbi), and Paul McNamara, sister-in-law, Maria LaRoche, special friend, Sonya Weed; several nieces and nephews.
