Karen H. Saliba

 

Karen H. Saliba, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday morning, October 28, 2011 at her home.  She was 74.

 

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 31, 2011 at The Episcopal Church of the Nativity with Rev. Ede M. Plovanich officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends in the Parish Hall of the church from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. on Monday prior to service time.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Nativity, 205 Holly Lane, Dothan, AL, 36301 or the ALS Foundation, (Alabama Chapter) 3313 Memorial Parkway Southwest, Huntsville, AL 35801.

 

Mrs. Saliba was born February 23, 1937 in Dothan, Alabama.  In 1955, she graduated from Dothan High School and was married to Richard Saliba. She was affiliated with Saliba Construction Company for many years and loved traveling with her close friends. Mrs. Saliba was a longtime member of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity.

 

Mrs. Saliba is predeceased by her parents, Barnard and Ann Culpepper Hightower; two brothers, R. B. Hightower and Jack Hightower and a sister, Eloise Whitehead.

 

She is survived by her husband, Richard Saliba of Dothan; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard J. Saliba (Jane) of Dothan; Jason Saliba of Atlanta, GA; two grandchildren, Lauren Saliba and Michael Saliba, both of Dothan; a brother, Roy Hightower of Panama City, FL; several nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Serving as active pallbearers will be Alan Dorn, Jake McCord, Chris Salamone, Doug Kosan, Dr. Trip Todd and Mike Palmer.
