Ms. Karen Martha Monk Sims of Samson, Alabama passed away Friday, November 10, 2023. She was 65.

A Celebration of Life service will be held later.

Karen was born on August 18, 1958, in Opp, AL to the late Willie Wilmer and Karen Broncil Windham Monk. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed cooking, baking and doing things for others. Karen was dedicated to Samson High School Band Boosters, where she tirelessly helped with bake sales and fundraisers. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Karen is survived by her three children; Jason Monk (Stacey) of Crestview, FL, Karen “Kari” Strickland of Delaware, OH, and Aaron Driggers of Samson, AL; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five siblings, Kathy Walker (Neal) of Eclectic, AL, Willie Monk, Jr. (Barbara) of Dallas, TX, Ann Russell (Donny) of Samson, AL, Dan Monk (Carol) of Zephyrhills, FL and Becky Linton (Ronnie) of Samson, AL. The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to the Samson First Methodist Church for their love and support shown to Karen and her family.
