MIDLAND CITY. . .Kathleen Bowman “Kat” Chandler, a resident of Midland City, died Sunday morning, July 10, 2022. She was 88.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 13, 2022, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Ricky Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary in Headland.

Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to SouthernCare Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Highway, Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36303.

Mrs. Chandler was born and reared in Dale County, daughter of the late Alfred Bowman and Lounette Hartzog Bowman. She lived in Midland City all her adult lifetime where she was a member of the Sanctuary of Praise. Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her husband, Mixon Chandler, a son, Ronnie Chandler, five grandchildren, Gary Chandler, Sandy Whitehead, Maria Whitehead, Jody Folds and Donnie Folds, a sister, Hazel Covington, three brothers, George Bowman, Mutt Bowman and Ralph Bowman, and a son-in-law, Johnny Wilkinson.

Surviving relatives include six daughters, Glenda Wilkinson, Shirley Folds (Danny), Judy Whitehead (Edward), Janice Chandler, Jena Buchanan (Ricky) and Buffy Chandler (Jose’), all of Midland City; three sons, Delbert Chandler (Joyce), Chester Chandler and Don Chandler (Tracy), all of Midland City; four brothers, Jimmy Bowman (Sue), Midland City; Cleve Bowman, Newville; Levy Bowman, Midland City; and Johnny Bowman, Kinsey; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren; nieces and nephews.
