Katie Hayes Kirkland, 97, of Dothan passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. B.K. Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in North Highlands Cemetery. Family will receive guests on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Sunset Memorial Park from 5:00-7:00 P.M.

Katie was born May 20, 1921 to W. S. Hayes and Hattie Koonce Hayes. She was married to Willie Kirkland who preceded her in death. She attended North Highlands High School and Selma University. She owned North Highlands Kindergarten.

She is survived by her three sons: Charles R. Hayes, Dr. Willie D. Kirkland and David “Mit” Kirkland. She has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
