Mr. Kenneth Shiver passed away Monday, October 15, 2018.  He was 62.

 

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2018 at Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Enterprise with Chaplain Matt Smith officiating. The family will receive friends Friday beginning at 1:00 and continuing until service time.

 

The man, the legend, the SNUFFY was given many pet names over his 36 year plus career as a police officer with Enterprise. In his spare time, he loved to talk about fishing and how he was ready to go camping in the snow of Alaska. He was the life of the party everywhere he went, but most of all, he was a hero to his daughter and two grandsons. He had the most hilarious laugh and was able to pick anyone's mood up. He treated everyone the same and never hesitated to help those in need. The lessons learned from him are precious, and we will miss him beyond words; however, we all know dad is up there speaking of all the habatchery goings on and his donut and coffee choices. His advice to all of us would be, "Take Your Time", as ending a call with him consisted of these sayings every time. The "Shive" to friends, and my dad, will forever be missed until we meet again. 

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Lamar Shiver and Mrs. Beatrice White Shiver; brothers, Mike Shiver and Larry Shiver; and sister, Jane Hadley.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Christin Ball (Nick) of Andalusia, AL; sisters, Gwen Lazenby (Dennis) of Auburn, AL and Sandra Riley (George) of Palm Beach, FL.; sister-in-law, Patricia Shiver of Houston, TX; and grandchildren, R.J. and Jaidyn.
